Introducing Wood Prints – Denver, CO Photography

March 30, 2013

TRP (Teryn Robinson Photography) will be offering wood prints very soon! These have a gorgeous warm tint to them because of the wood color coming through and you can see the wood grain which gives any image a beautiful natural look. Here’s the sample I ordered so you can see just how unique they are. Happy Easter weekend everyone ♥

The Porter Family – Westminster Colorado Family Photography

March 23, 2013

The Porter’s are a fun filled and energy filled bunch.  Not 2 minutes after getting out of the car, the youngest tripped and fell right in the mud… before we had a chance to take a single picture!  The rest of the session went much better (thank God).  You can tell what good parents C and V are by the way they interact with their boys and how good the boys are behaved.  When I went to their home to premiere their photos are my large HD projector screen, it was so nice to get to see them cuddle on the couch as they watched saying “That’s me, that’s you!”  They ate pizza, I brought dessert, and we had a lot of fun sifting through their proofs and choosing their favorites for their image box, pocket albums, and canvas cluster for their foyer wall.  Thank you so much C & V for being such awesome clients and for choosing me to be your family photographer!!!  Next year we’ll have to pick a warmer, less muddy day icon wink The Porter Family Westminster Colorado Family Photography

Denver Family Photography – Winter Snow Session

February 10, 2013

If you saw the speak peek I posted yesterday from the family I shot in the morning you’d never believe these were taken later the same day.  The morning was sunny, not a cloud in the sky.  A couple hours before this shoot I started seeing flurry’s.  I had prepared Renee for a snowy session based on the forecast earlier this week and she and the kids were ready (sleds in hand).  This session was a birthday present for Renee (from her cousin… best cousin ever right?!) and I couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather to get the beautiful winter snow photos we were all so excited for. We had a blast!! Here are a couple of my favorites. I can’t wait to show them the rest icon smile Denver Family Photography Winter Snow Session

The Arnold-Renicker’s – Colorado Family Photography

January 29, 2013

I have known Heather & Brian for a very long time and have had the privilege of taking their maternity photos, family photos when their daughter was 3 months old, and now family photos for Eavan’s 1st birthday!  I just love being able to document the stages of their family as they grow.

One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through…

December 14, 2012

This is a long and very personal post which is rare for me.  I feel like it’s important to put this out there in hopes that it can bring someone who has been through, is currently going through, or will go through this in the future, some sort of comfort.

This week has been very tough emotionally and physically for my husband and I. We had been so excited since mid October when we found out we were having a baby (due June 2013). We were eagerly waiting to find out if it was a boy or a girl, wondering what features it would get from each of us, what it’s personality was going to be like, what kind of parents we would be, etc., etc..  This would be the first grandchild for my parents and they have saved the crib I slept in as a baby.  They got it out of storage and we brought it home to start working on the nursery.  We had our first ultrasound at 7 weeks and everything looked good.  The baby was the size it should be for how far along we were.  It had a strong heartbeat.  I had blood work done for the 3rd time since finding out I was pregnant and all 3 times my hormone levels were great.  We were told that we were healthy and low risk and pretty much in the clear as far as miscarriage goes.  After seeing a heartbeat, the chances drop significantly to about 2-3%.

This past Monday we went to see the doctor and found out through an ultrasound that we lost our baby. We saw a strong heartbeat 5 weeks ago but this time there was no heartbeat.  My body still thought there was a healthy baby in there so I really wasn’t having any symptoms to tell me something was wrong.  The doc did a pelvic exam and said everything looked good.  She then started getting the ultrasound machine ready and, as she did so, prepped us to see a baby… with a heartbeat, arms and legs and said it would probably be kicking around in there.  We watched the screen and saw no movement.  Everyone was quiet as she struggled trying to find the heartbeat but there was none.  She finally broke the silence by saying “Sweetie, there’s no heartbeat”.  I immediately started crying and poor Alvin didn’t know what to do or say.  He softly touched my head and then leaned down to give me a hug as I cried.  She ensured us that it was not our fault and prepared us for what was ahead.  Since then my body has figured it out and miscarried naturally at home (thank you God).  I was really dreading the thought of having to get surgery if my body didn’t figure it out soon.

We have had an outpouring of love and support from the people around us.  It’s so sad to hear other women’s stories and know how many women have gone through a miscarriage and kept so quiet about it.  I think sometimes it’s because it’s too painful to talk about, and sometimes because nobody knew they were pregnant.  How are you going to tell people you miscarried when they did not even know you were expecting.  We decided to announce we were expecting around 10 weeks and, even though this happened, I don’t regret sharing our news when we did. We were happy and joyful and we got to share that joy with all the people who care about us… even if it was only for a short time.

We know God has a plan for us and our family and he always blesses us beyond measure. Love…bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails – 1Cor 13:7-8

My husband and I lead a youth group of High Schoolers at our church and one of the girls in our class gave me this poem.  I bawled when my husband brought it home Wednesday night and I read it out loud.  Since then I have read it several more times and it has really brought me comfort.  I know there are a lot of other people out there who have gone through or are going through this type of loss and a lot of other people who are struggling with other things this time of year.  I hope it can bring some comfort and hope to those who feel lost or discouraged.  I also hope and pray that I can help others through my experience.

2013 High School Senior – AJ

July 14, 2012

This was the 3rd shoot I’ve done for this family and it was so much fun.  This one was just AJ and I so I really got to talk to him and know more about him and he’s such a neat guy.  He’s nice, respectful, smart… and he says he has no interest in girls or dating right now (and I believe him)!  Here’s a sneak peek icon smile 2013 High School Senior AJ

DIY Baby Shower

July 14, 2012

I seriously have the most talented in-laws.  I really lucked out!!  My sister-in-law, Rosie, threw her sister a baby shower and I just couldn’t resist showing a few images of the amazing details.  I have no idea how much time she spent on this but I will tell you this… she went to numerous stores and garage sales to collect the beautiful floral plates and bird cages.  My mother-in-law and her mother hand made all the cloth napkins.  Rosie made a tiered diaper cake and hand made all the flower clips everywhere.  She provided an array of onsies, bibs and other clothes that each guest could decorate for the baby with iron on fabrics, lace, flowers, etc., etc.  She handmade all the invitations which I don’t have a picture of here but they were adorable and each had their own homemade flower clip (pink of course) for the invitee to keep.  There were so many details I can’t even begin to list them all but here are some of my favorites icon smile DIY Baby Shower
